07/29/20: Every once in awhile you get to work with someone who is excited about helping people, is an awesome team player, and is always willing to share their thoughts and ideas. In Spring of 2019, we had the privilege of having Britney Stines join us as an intern. She was attending East Tennessee State University, pursuing her B.S. degree in Human Services. When she first joined us she would make copies, help prep materials and meals for the sessions, and stepped in a few times to help with childcare. After her internship was over, she decided she liked working with us so much that she became a facilitator in the Fall of 2019 when we switched over to the Powerful Families, Powerful Communities curriculum.
Britney works great with both groups – caregivers and youth, however working with youth is her favorite. When asked about why she chose to work with EYFP, Britney replied, “I help with EYFP because I want to see families grow in their relationships with each other and further develop the strengths they already have. It is important for families to be able to communicate and I think EYFP does a great job of helping families communicate better.” Britney has been a tremendous asset to our EYFP team. Any time we need anything at all, she is always willing to jump in and lend a hand.
