New Hanover and Brunswick counties will begin programming for the Spring 2019 Empowering Youth and Families Program on March 14th. Each family will participate in a twelve session program that is designed to strengthen their relationships and empower them to lead community change. Families will also take part in a weekend retreat at Eastern 4-H Center in June, where they will learn community action planning and create a vision for opioid misuse prevention in their community. Kenan Bridges is the Program Assistant for New Hanover County and Brunswick County EYFP. This is the first family cohort that will participate in EYFP in New Hanover or Brunswick counties.
