5/15/20: Nash County’s Empowering Youth and Families program would like you to meet our wonderful community partner The Williford Family Resource Center. This center is committed to serving the community in a positive way.
Their Director is Jessica Daughtridge. She is an exceptional partner and has now joined Nash County Empowering Youth and Families team as a facilitator.
The center is a non-profit organization that offers parenting courses, such as Parenting Partners, a 6 week class, and Triple P Parenting which covers topics such as raising resilient children, fighting, sharing, and bullying.
It also holds a monthly meeting called “Muffins for Moms” which is a monthly meeting with guest speakers and topic discussions generated by the participants. This group encourages moms, aunts and grandmothers to attend.
The center houses a food pantry. There is on-site social worker. It also provides course offerings from Nash Community College. Classes are available for Basic Computer Skills, CRC Preparation, Internet and Email, Interview, Resume and Application, and others.
In addition, there are events at the center to promote parent-child relationships, Leadership Club for Second Graders, as well as a Preschool Playgroup.
We are very excited to have this agency and well as their director partner with us. With this support our reach will continue to grow in Nash County.
