07/07/20: Our families in Nash County are continuing to move forward, despite the limitations imposed by social distancing. Empowering Youth and Families didn’t stop during COVID-19. We have been staying busy. Our families have continued to find ways to support each other and help their community.
We previously shared that one of our members had created masks to help protect medical workers and volunteers. Other members have volunteered where opportunities have presented themselves be that working with animals at a veterinary office, volunteering in the library, or helping out in their neighborhoods all while taking precautions to stay safe.
There have also been some great news and success stories to share. All our students have been promoted. We now have 7th graders, 8th and 9th graders and a 10th grader that has been accepted into Early College. These are great accomplishments for these students despite the challenges of our “new normal” during COVID-19.
Here in Nash County we are proud of our program graduates and we like to say that we are families that are always growing. The more we continue to stay connected with each other, the more we continue to reach out to and share with many in our community. We are excited about what the future holds and we are looking forward to returning in the fall and meeting new families.
