11/05/19 PFPC Week 4: During this meeting, the youth learned how to accept responsibility for their own behaviors. They practiced methods to resist negative peer pressure. They also identified safe versus risky choices and how to say no when friends suggest doing something risky.
Caregivers learned how to effectively coach their youth through emotional times. They learned to validate their youths’ feelings and positively discipline. When everyone came together for the family session, they defined their family’s expectations and how to praise behavior that meets those expectations. They were encouraged to use repairing words and actions. Defining expectations helped our families to be on the same page when they left the session.
