On Monday, February 18th, we hosted an orientation for the families participating in EYFP. We asked and answered silly questions to get to know one another, played several games, enjoyed a hearty meal consisting of slow-cooker roast with veggies and rice, completed all of our paperwork, and ended the night with cookie cake and ice cream.
We shared how the program will be facilitated and described a few of the activities that are integrated throughout the sessions. By the end of the evening, both adults and youth were already looking forward to the next meeting.
From the perspective of a first time facilitator, I am excited to launch our county’s third cohort with these families. They have a genuine interest in creating a better place for not only their family, but for other families involved in their respective communities.
