12-17-2019. Due to some scheduling issues, we combined the 3rd and 5th sessions together to finish out our 10-week Powerful Families cohort.
The Dolengo family was very kind and cooked an upstate NY style meal. It was delicious!!
The youth learned about family boundaries and how they are used to protect them from consequences. They also learned about appropriate and inappropriate behaviors.
The caregivers discussed how to identify changes in youth attitudes and behaviors and how to recognize high-risk behaviors. They learned how to positively address these changes.
During family time, they role-played using different difficult scenarios. We also played a review game using a ball and each person expressed what they learned and enjoyed during the last 10 weeks.
The families had very positive things to say about their experiences with the program. They enjoyed the fellowship, good food, spending time with their family. Two of the fathers were particularly sad to see it end.
