12/07/20: We are excited to announce that the Empowering Youth and Families Program fall 2020 cohort has officially started in Brunswick County. This fall our participants will participate in ten weekly sessions on a virtual platform. While our meeting environment has changed, our focus on family bonding remains strong.
This fall’s cohort will be the first Brunswick County EFYP cohort to engage in the evidence driven Powerful Families, Powerful Communities curriculum. Over ten weeks, family members will learn about personal responsibility, healthy communication, community supports, and gain knowledge about the effects of drugs on the mind and body. Youth will participate in their session first via Zoom, followed by caregivers, and then all participants and facilitators will come together for a family session. Following the weekly meeting, families will be provided an activity that incorporates the weekly lessons into fun for the whole family.
If you are interested in joining the Empowering Youth and Families Program in Brunswick County, please reach out to Haylee Allen, EYFP-PA at the NC Cooperative Extension office to get signed up for our upcoming spring 2021 cohorts!
