08/12/20: Lee County’s Family and Consumer Sciences Agent, Alyssa Anderson, completed a free virtual cooking school where families were able to expand their knowledge on cooking and trying new recipes. The Cook Smart, Eat Smart Virtual Cooking School teaches families how to prepare healthy food using simple techniques, food, and equipment. The virtual cooking school consisted of four sessions that are offered via computer, phone or table.
In the upcoming weeks, some families from the Empowering Youth and Families Program will be able to try one of the sessions to see what they can learn. Many are excited because of their joy of cooking while others are eager to reconnect with one another. Stay tuned to see what delicious meal we will get a chance to make!
