08/18/20: This week is Lee County’s first week back to school, virtually. As I checked in with families, a lot of scholars experienced some technical difficulties and challenges with the help of their parents and teachers. Although this year looks way different, there were still some “back-to-school jitters” like starting a new grade level, social worries, getting help and support, and the uncertainty of what this school year may bring.
As scholars continue remotely learning, let’s be sure to take time to support our youth in any way we can as well as teachers. This is new to them. They will experience a great deal of emotions and it is our job as parents, caregivers, professionals, and supporters to make sure they are mentally and emotionally supported to take on the challenges they face each day.
