5/27/21: As Lee County finishes their third cohort, I want to say thank you to everyone that has helped make this program happen! In Spring 2019, Lee County started its first cohort that learned how to be empowered within themselves, family, and community. They shared information with other family, friends, and resources, which led us to have a successful Community Event. Spring 2019’s Community Event allowed the community to know more about EYFP, which led to a Fall 2019 Cohort. Fall 2019’s Cohort was able to experience a life-changing Confluence where they met families in other counties and had a fun weekend getaway. Though COVID-19 caused a lot of uncertainty, families stay connected through a Cook Smart, Eat Smart class.
Through all of this, Lee County’s support staff have made the transition smooth! With help from NC Cooperative Extension, Social Services Department, and Health Department in Lee County, the program has run smoothly because of the behind-the-scenes support. Special thanks to everyone for their support and help that has made this vision possible, I appreciate you, and our families appreciate you!
Thank you, thank you!
