6/2/21: This week Lee County completed its third cohort. Despite the challenges amid COVID, we were able to push the program through! When wrapping up the last class, our family shared how much they appreciated meeting new people, learning new ways to communicate, and gaining information about opioid misuse and its effects.
I am proud to have the opportunity to educate those within the community to become empowered. My time with the family has been fun through our weekly meetings with activities and games that help with understanding. I have achieved my goal of helping another family gain skills and knowledge that help them as individuals, in their family, and in the community.
Although the Spring program is complete, stay tuned for other opportunities of involvement in Summer 2021!
