04/09/20: EYFP wants to highlight Alyssa Anderson, Lee County’s Family and Consumer Science Agent, for her hard work and support she has done with the program and Christians United Outreach Center.
Alyssa started with the CUOC shortly after starting work in Lee County, and began working with EYFP in 2019. She helped answer the needs of the community by providing opportunities for those that wanted to better their knowledge on food and nutrition, and make changes for a healthier lifestyle.
In the beginning of last year, Alyssa opened The Burrowing Kitchen that allowed for families to check out cookware they needed to cook with for FREE. Families would rotate every week or so based on what they needed. Alyssa not only stepped in to help ensure families had the opportunity to eat healthy, but she also helped with making sure families had healthy relationships by assisting parents with learning tools to help improve family cohesiveness.
A great help and big supporter, Alyssa is always willing to step in and help support. We are grateful to have her on the team!
