4/20/21: The instructional team in Alleghany consists of Extension staff and outside partners. Amy Lucas and Carmen Long are members of the Extension staff that will be assisting in the EYFP cohort this spring. Both are excited to see how the program positively impacts the community.
Amy Lucas is the County Extension Director and 4-H Agent in Alleghany County. When asked what she was looking forward to most about EYFP, she said, “I’m excited about meeting new families and helping them to build relationships with others who can offer advice and techniques to deal with difficult situations. I think that’s a huge coping technique when working through anything difficult. Also for us just strengthening existing partnerships and forming new ones to provide resources to our families.”
Carmen is the Family & Consumer Science Agent for Alleghany and Surry County. When asked what she was looking forward to most about being a part of EYFP, she said, “ I am looking forward to meeting and working with families.” She enjoys spending time in the outdoors with her family in her free time.
